Open Water Diver
During the PADI® Open Water Diver course you will learn what you need to know to explore the underwater world using scuba equipment. Most people view this training as a rewarding challenge.
The PADI® Open Water Diver course consists of 3 parts: Knowledge Development, Confined Water Diving and Open Water Diving.
Knowledge Development includes the principles, concepts and terms you need to know in order to dive safely and have fun. During confined water dives, you learn and practice scuba skills in a pool or water with similar conditions. You will enjoy doing one or more mini-dives, during which you can follow the same procedures that you will follow during open water dives. To complete the training, practice, apply and demonstrate what you have learned over the course of four open water dives at a local site.
The achievement of the PADI® Open Water Diver certification demonstrates that you have met the requirements of the course. Dive Centers and Dive Resorts require a license before allowing you to rent scuba equipment, fill up your cylinders and book diving trips. As a PADI® Open Water Diver, you will be trained to a maximum depth of 18 meters / 60 feet and qualified to dive in conditions that are the same or better than what you have been trained in. It will truly be the beginning of a life full of underwater adventures.
